The Club Rules were discussed at the recent AGM and, in particular, a committee recommendation to update Fishing Rule 23 (b) in respect of pike fishing, when it was suggested that having a hook length of anything other than wire trace was inappropriate. This would invariably be of a higher breaking strain than the maximum of 10lb for main line.
This rule now reads : “Your hook length must be no more than 18 inches long, must not be braid and (unless using a wire trace when fishing for pike) must be of a lower breaking strain than your main line”.
